The Friends of Upper Fort Garry is a group of volunteers who are passionate about preserving the original site of Upper Fort Garry, a 3½-acre area that stretches along Main Street from Broadway to Assiniboine Avenue in Winnipeg. It is our hope that this Park will bring the history of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Canada to life in a unique, design-conscious way. By telling the story of this vital landmark, it will ensure that a chapter in Canada’s history will remain alive for generations to come.

The Friends of Upper Fort Garry is a registered charity and non-profit organization established solely for the purpose of developing the Upper Fort Garry Provincial Park. The Friends is governed by a Board of Directors. The Forks North Portage Development Corporation, as a gracious in-kind contribution, administers the affairs of the Board.
